Dialogue prompt/Happy Valentine's Day (Hawke/Fenris)

This started off as a dialogue prompt and ended with slight FenHawke stuff, I'm trash I know.

“Shouldn't you be at work?” I ask Marien, what on earth is she doing here? I nudge Fenris and glance towards the street that goes to the house. “Excuse me.” He bows slightly and runs off. With the tensions between the Templars, the Circle, The Inquisition, and The Wardens, you can't help being a bit cautious. I turn back to the inquisitor and give her a fake smile “Now Ms. Jade, where were we?” She crosses her arms “Shut up Hawke. Where's Varric? Cassandra told me he came to Kirkwall.” Well, that was rude. “I may have seen him, and I may have not. And as I asked earlier, shouldn't you be at Skyhold figuring out the breach?” Now if you don't know what the breach is, it's a massive hole in the sky that allows demons to come through the veil between The Fade and the mortal world unchecked. So it's not very good! She should really focus more on that then trying to distract Varric from finishing his book, or attempting to cause the Wardens more trouble than they already have. Marien shrugs “We have others working on that. Now where's Varric?” I give her a look “I told you already, I don't know.” Fenris comes running up to us and skids to a stop nearly running into me and stops panting. He points a finger at the inquisitor “Where's your boyfriend?” He asks her. “Said he had to go check the gallows, see how the Templars are doing. Then he said he'd be up in hightown, said he forgot something last time he was here. You live in hightown don't you Hawke? You and your siblings? Carver and, oh what's her name? Bethany?” My fists clench “if you or Cullen lay a hand on my sister I swear I'll kill you both.” She gives a sly smile. Fenris coughs “Ahem, excuse us for a moment.” He drags me a couple of yards away out of earshot. “I'll take care of the inquisitor, I want you to go home and lock the door. After I'm done with Marien ill see if I can find Cullen. Do we have a deal?” I nod and he smiles slightly “I'll be fine, you big softie.” I whispers and kisses my cheek. He walks back over to the inquisitor and starts talking to them again, I start walking home.

“So shouldn't you be at Skyhold doing whatever work you do closing the breach?” I ask the inquisitor. They look at me with a cold expression before curtly replying “Shouldn't you be out telling little kids Santa Claus isn't real?” Wow, just when I thought she'd run out of insults. “Was that because I'm not a member of the chantry?” She nods “Of course it was, I'm surprised you managed to figure it out. Because didn't you only learn to read and write, say about a year ago?” First an insult on my religion, then my intelligence, fastavas what is this woman's problem? “Hahaha very funny.” I say with not an ounce of humor in my voice “Really, why are you here?” She smiles grimly and draws her sword “To do this.” She starts walking towards me and I back up, then she goes staggering back in a flash and whirl of movement. I rub my eyes and look to see the two who I'd never expect to see this far into HighTown. “Isabela? Merrill? H-how? What?!” I look to the ground next to Merrill, The inquisitor is lying on the ground unconscious. “Varric told us you might need some help. He still has contacts everywhere Fenris, has since he came to Kirkwall originally.” Sneaky bastard was spying on us, typical- but helpful. “Well you have my thanks, both of you. How'd you do that anyways?” I ask them. Merrill holds her staff in one hand “Magic isn't all bad you know.” I shrug, I've had mostly bad experiences with magic so I'm a bit biased. “And what'd you do?” I ask Bela. “Good old fashioned side tackle.” We move the inquisitor over to a side street away from prying eyes, and out of the middle of the street, then head home. I think over the past few hours, that was a pretty good insult I'll give her that. Now to see what Hawke's up to.

The three of us walk in silence until we get to the house, Bela and Merrill wave goodbye and I go to open the door, fumbling with my keys. I shove open the door and step inside, kicking off my shoes. “Garret, I'm home!!!” I yell looking around for him. “I'm up here!” A voice yells and I run up the stairs, into our room. I stop short and stand in the doorway blinking, making sure I'm seeing what I'm seeing. Indeed my vision has not betrayed me, and in front of me sits Hawke. “Happy Valentine's Day Fenris.” I close the door behind me, this should be interesting...

This was a dialogue prompt: “Shouldn't you be at work?” “Shouldn't you be out telling little kids Santa Claus isn't real?”
