Comment Moderation Change (Thank You Spammers)

 Hi all,

Just wanted to pop in with a quick update that at least for the time being there will be a comment moderation change (from non-moderated to moderated) due to an influx of spam and rude commenters on a variety of media platforms. You will still be able to comment as normal, it will just have to go through a manual moderation approval system on my end before it is finally published in order to keep this space a welcoming and inclusive environment free of bigotry and spammers.

I hope you are all staying safe in this difficult time, finding joy where possible, and managing not to catch all of the colds and everything circling. I've been dealing with some rather annoying seasonal allergies lately, not ideal when trying to work on national writing month works. That said, I've got a number of things queued up to share throughout this month and through the end of the year, and I hope you enjoy them.

 Until next time,

Max

  1. Hi Max:

for some time I have only let Blogger commenters through.

And on my end I have let certain cookies go through so I CAN comment with my Blogger account.

[and not anonymously as I had been doing the last few years - since 2018 or so!]

So you're working on NaNoWriMo, Max?

When it's hard to breathe - it's hard to read and it's hard to write.

    Yay for queuing!

  2. Hi Adelaide,

Apologies for the very late reply, things have been a bit crazy and your comment mistakenly ended up in the spam folder so I didn't see it until now! Glad you were able to get it so you can comment. Unfortunately things will stay at the increased moderation level as bigots continue to be an issue.

I was sort of working on NaNoWriMo, at the moment I'm attempting to get caught up on the backlog of things that need to be finished, it's gotten rather extensive but I'm making progress.

That is certainly the case, I'm not looking forward to this years round of seasonal allergies, especially after a rough winter and an even worse spring and summer compounded by the removal of my wisdom teeth further aggravating things. At least there are antihistamines and when needed high dose steroids to keep things more or less under control.

Queuing is an incredibly useful feature! Last I checked I believe I had through May of 2025 queued up? Roughly 2-3 posts a month with the exception of February, as I plan to do flashficfeb again.

    Best,
    Max
