Day 12 Danger:
“Hey Fyr…are we supposed to be doing this?” I ask hesitantly as I follow the old mage through part of the city under works “Of course we aren’t, why bother asking.” he replies, reigniting a candle light spell and continuing in front of me. “Isn’t this dangerous?” Fyr scoffs “Says the person who kills people for a living and regularly wanders around the ashlands before coming back to me because you got sick…again. We’ll be fine, besides Eno is always available for backup.” With a sigh I decide that it might be better to simply shut up, not ask questions, and continue to trudge along. After some more sneaking around and walking through only Azura knows what Fyr stops. “Okay, we’re here.” he says and pokes his head up through a grate. “Excellent, now can you tell me why we are here and why we had to walk through all of that and not go walk around the streets like normal people?” Fyr looks at me, looks back up at whatever it is he’s looking at, and then back to me. “Because I’m not entirely welcome here after the whole business with Sotha Sil way back when.” That's fair I suppose, but does not answer why we are here. “Alright, fine, but why are we here?” Fyr by then had gone back to observing whatever he's looking for topside. “I want to see if he’s here.” Huh? “Want to see if who is here?” Fyr sighs “Sotha Sil, obviously, he visits Vivec every now and again. They’re planning something, I know it.” Oh I’m sure, just like Neloth knows that mudcrabs display unusual intelligence and are capable of understanding conversational language. “And what exactly might they be planning?” I question, getting rather tired of the whole ordeal when Fyr suddenly hops down from his spot, looking very displeased and perhaps even nervous. “Whatever it is we and specifically you need to lay low. Now let’s go see Eno, this place is starting to smell and I’m getting hungry.” He begins to walk off, suddenly on much more high alert. “Fyr…what did you see up there?” I ask while running to catch up “Oh, you know, nothing…only Almalexia talking to at least three dark brotherhood assassins and I heard her mention your name in the conversation at least once…” He laughs nervously and trails off. Wonderful, someone is out to get me and it is one of perhaps the most powerful people in the world…excellent. After a walk that seems much longer going back than it was going out we reach the Morag Tong headquarters underneath the Arena canton and after being shooed off immediately to go bathe and change by Eno we sit and have tea, discussing what it is Fyr saw. “It’s a good thing you came here Valan, you’re in danger…” Eno tells me quietly as he sips his tea, and yet despite the weight of the statement, his calmness makes hearing those words from a master assassin not quite as scary. I’ll have to stick to the shadows for now, but I’ve never been one to be overly fearful of danger, so in the meantime I’ll prepare for whatever strike may be coming next- your move, Almalexia…
