Day 11 Music:
The Breton people are known for our unique and vibrant culture, including but not limited to food, clothing, music, and language. Imperial food is in some ways similar but more heavily relies on starches in the form of pasta and vegetables that are able to grow in the more temperate climate of the Niben valley. Nordic food also has some similarities…but is much more bland. It is quite likely that should you be lucky enough to pay a visit to the iliac bay region that you’ll find yourself in a street market not only surrounded by both sweet pastries and savory dishes, but also music. The Bretons are somewhat an odd race, as we resemble the human portion of our ancestors in our short to average and not overly muscular stature, with most having rounder if ever so slightly pointed ears, but inherited the magical abilities of our elven ancestors, however diluted it may be Bretons are still regarded as some of the best mages in Tamriel, our culture is a blend of both parts of our history, human and elf, and together they form an ideology that deeply values the arts, magical advancement, and intellect. I myself, for one began both my magical tutoring and music lessons at the age of four, and regularly practice both even now. Sitting in a local tavern on the docks of Daggerfall I finish up my lunch and pull out a file of papers, it's a mix of things really, sheet music I’ve been meaning to practice, newspaper ideas and scraps of paper with information written down, other bits and pieces of things I simply have not yet found time or place for. Grabbing a piece of charcoal and taking a sip of my tea I take a moment to listen to the bard who sits playing in the other corner of the room before I begin to write. Music is always something that has allowed me to become inspired and caused my ideas to be able to flow easily, today is no different. Putting the tip of the charcoal to the paper I begin to write my recap of the current events that have gone on recently in the world. Humming along to the lute, and later a flute and drum also join in, I work steadily, only stopping when the music ends to find several hours had passed and I had almost gone through my entire stack of paper, I guess that is simply what happens when you get lost in the music.
