Day 6 Oath:
“You know what this place needs? A good purification.” I murmur looking around the Falkreath sanctuary, it's a far cry from Cheydinhal for sure. Issy must have heard me as I get a less than pleased look and she walks over to me “You’re right but still you shouldn’t say it.” She says crossing her arms and surveying the members of the sanctuary as they go about their daily routines. Astrid discusses something with her husband Arnbjorn out of earshot from our spot in the main room that one walks into after leaving the entryway. I remember asking Anna and Farkas if they knew anything about the Skyrim branch of the Dark Brotherhood, and they didn’t for the most part, except at the mention of Arnbjorn poor Farkas went as white as a sheet, turns out he was kicked out of The Companions when the twins were younger for being too murderous, and now the Dark Brotherhood has a werewolf in their ranks. “Hi Lucien.” Babette waves, having suddenly appeared next to me. The vampire girl was turned at some point during the Oblivion crisis and worked elsewhere outside of Cheydinhal, as a result she knew of me and probably passed me once or twice while out and about but I did not officially meet her until both of us were post mortem. “I think something is wrong with Astrid.” she mutters “Why?” Babette points to a sign on the wall listing the five tenants, the core rules of the organization which have a variety of punishments ranging from a warning to expulsion to at the worst what ended up causing my death. Keepings one's oath is of utmost importance in an organization such as this, perhaps even more than the Morag Tong because while they value honor and honesty highly they also have the advantage of working in a semi-legal fashion, a right not reserved for the assassins operating outside of Morrowind. I for one take breaches of oath particularly hard due to my framing that led to my death. Babette leaves me after some more conversation in favor of going to talk to Issy about the problem, and so I stand leaning against the wall, staring at the tenants. What could possibly make Astrid double cross the brotherhood, and why? No matter her position, Issy, Babette and I have a few centuries seniority, the matter of oath will be resolved, and I hope with as little bloodshed within the brotherhood itself as possible. Bored of the sanctuary I decide to pay Anna and Farkas another visit given they’re still in Windhelm, and lucky for me teleportation allows me to land right inside their house “Hey Farkas remember the creepy werewolf guy you were talking about? Yeah his wife is up to something in the Dark Brotherhood, I smell conspiracy, possible murder plot, who knows, something’s up…” In return I get a silent and slightly confused look as he puts down his pen and looks up from the desk “How did you get in my house?” Right...I forgot to tell them about that part “In the words of our lord and savior Eno Hlaalu be gay do crime alright gotta go bye!” Without another word I teleport back to Falkreath and sit by the pool for a bit. “You have to promise me you will stay calm about this okay?” Issy comes up to me, oh I don’t like the sound of that. “What is it?” I ask glancing up at her. “Astrid may or may not have tried to offer Shadowmere to an adventurer- don’t worry, I stopped her.” Issy looks at me nervously awaiting my reaction “She what?!” Issy mumbles what she had previously stated. Getting up I start to go toward the door, oath breaker or not you get in the way of me and my horse that is a death sentence, dark brotherhood or not.
