The international musician (Valan)

Valan is back!!!

So my lovely friend Flutistpride requested the prompt "What about Valen in the Daggerfall symphony orchestra?" So here's Valan (with Xavier and Juliette as well) in the Daggerfall orchestra inbetween the time of Morrowind and Oblivion. Here goes

"I walk into the music hall, from what I can see its magnificent, mahogany wood lines the balcony, trimmed with gold ornate and shining. Red velvet lines the seats. This place is far better then the orchestra in Morrowind, at least the building is. In terms of musicians their about even. Two of my friends, Xavier and Juliette both play in the orchestra and got their conductor to ask the Morrowind Symphony Orchestra to "lend me" to them because they were short a violinist. I gladly obliged when asked and made my way here. I turn left and go down the stairs and backstage. I see a few colleagues of mine, mostly fellow violinists and follow them out to the stage. We warm up and run through our songs with the conductor. I see Xavier hidden in the back by the piano and Juliette over with the other clarinets. The songs we run through are Incantation and Ritual, Mulan, Spontanious Combustion and I am The Doctor. My personal favorite. Our concert is tomorrow night. After practice is over I meet Xavier and Juliette outside and they take me for dinner in the main part of the city near where I'm staying. It's a very nice place, excellent steak if you ever go there. It's called Alta-Strada, it's mostly pasta but the steak is very good too. After dinner, at around 10:00 or so they lead me to the inn, say goodnight and then leave for their own homes.

The Next Day-

I sleep late waking at around noon. What? I have non-24 syndrome this is what happens, my cacaidien rhythm is messed up and therefor my sleep is screwed too. Luckily Master Neloth isn't here, or Sammie, or my Tiggs or anyone else who'd slap me with a pillow until I woke up. No joke though Tiggs, my Deaf Redguard childhood (and still) best friend who lives in the apartment next to me in The Imperial City would come into my room and start slapping me with a pillow or yell in my ear until I woke up. I climb out of bed sleepily with a groan and get dressed. I go downstairs and walk around the market place until I get side tracked and go wander somewhere else. I get back to the inn at around 6 o'clock and change into my concert attire, grab my violin and music and head out the door. I get there early enough to get everything out and get partially warmed up before backstage becomes crowded with the rest of the 100 or so other musicians. Yeah, Daggerfall is huge and take musicians from all over the world. At 7:30 the doors open and people trickle in, by 7:45 the place is nearly packed! We run through our songs with Spontaneous combustion as the finale, it Ephesians  a lot on snare drums and by the end you feel like your ears are about to fall off, but it's a cool song. After the concert I pack up my things, talk to my friends and the conductor for a few minutes and then go back to the inn, strip off my concert clothing and throw them to the side, take a shower get dressed, ok I may have forgotten a shirt. No big deal. And fall onto the bed already fast asleep. Goodnight people."

Sincerely,
Valan Velothi

    2. I loved the post concert exhaustion scene. It's something every musician can relate to.
