Good news:
I'm doing a lot better than I was when he first met me.
The stridor is well controlled on medication
I got a new Isense yesterday
If everything goes well I may get HA's by the end of the year
Bad News.
Still can't hear
Still have the stridor when not managed on med.
HA's will take a while if we can even get them
We need to see another ENT for hearing stuff
I need surgery.
Read the last one again.
It's not s high risk procedure, but still, it's surgery. They will actually do multiple things while I'm out. It's scheduled for October 21st and I have a Dr.Cohen (the other guy) appointment the 27th and a post op two weeks from the surgery date.
Wish me luck,
Max
P.S good news I said in my classes that I'd like to be called M or Max (except in English) and the teachers have complied!!!!!
Good luck! I hope everything works out.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I hope so too. And I replied to your comments btw
DeleteWhat do you need surgery for? Good luck with all that's going on! My current issue is my FM won't charge... I won't get into how frustrating Phonak has been this week but this is just one more thing to deal with
ReplyDeleteI have a cyst in my sinus' and a small cleft pallete. Thanks! Oh no that's not good!!! I hope it gets fixed soon! I hope phonak is less frustrating soon and everything works out. How was your first? Week of college, do you like your classes? Are the kids nice? Did you get lost at all? Do you like your dorm room mate (if you have one)?
DeleteI like my classes. Everyone here is really nice, it already feels like a close knit community. I haven't really gotten lost- it's a small campus. I do have a roommate and I like her. We get along quite well. She's currently home for the Labor Day weekend. I'm definitely making lots of friends and I love how diverse my college is!
DeleteThat's great Kathryn! Is it an all women's college or a co Ed one? I looked it up and it said all women but wasn't sure. How big of a campus is it? Couple thousand? That's great that everything (minus the phonak difficulties) is going pretty good!
DeleteIt is a women's college. Although there is another campus under the same administration umbrella that is co-Ed and the graduate schools are co-Ed. All the schools together are like 2 thousand but the numbers of undergrads on my campus is a little over 500. So tiny by college standards. The class of 2020 for my campus is 105 people but that's smaller than the norm.
DeleteCool. That's really small. The class of 2020 is the year I graduate high school. That's smaller then the size of my grade in middle school even, wow.
DeleteThe size of my class here is 1/3 of the size of my graduating high school class.
DeleteWow, that's good
DeleteMighty Max....
ReplyDelete"I'm doing a lot better than I was when he first met me. The stridor is well controlled on medication. I got a new Isense yesterday. If everything goes well I may get HA's by the end of the year." Thanks be to God!! That is great, Friend!! ;-D
"Still can't hear." I am sorry.... I understand--in a small sense--how it feels to be completely deaf, because my ears can plug up with wax.... Especially when I am battling colds.... It is no fun and you live in a silent world. But at least my ears always eventually unplug!! I am praying for you!! ;)
"Still have the stridor when not managed on med." Well, that is definitely not good!! I am praying for God to heal this health issue!! ;)
"HA's will take a while if we can even get them." Yeah.... Hearing aids are crazy like that!! People obviously need them, but they take seemingly forever to get, not to mention they're expensive!! I hope you obtain your hearing aids sooner rather than later.... And that they help!! Praying!! ;)
"We need to see another ENT for hearing stuff." I am praying for positive test results from that doctors appointment!! Keep us updated, alright? ;)

You need surgery for.... What? Refresh my memory, as I am sure you have already written about it on here!! ;)
"I said in my classes that I'd like to be called M or Max (except in English) and the teachers have complied!!!!!" That is good, that is great, that is wonderful!! ;-D
"Stay hard, stay hungry, stay alive", Raelyn
Sorry, long comment. I so cannot do Twitter!! Ha!! ;-D
Yeah it is! The hearing teacher is very nice. That's not good, I've been mishearing words on a more consistent bases than before. Which isn't good. Haha I think everyone is Raelyn! But Dr.Hartnick was amazed at how much I've recovered and grown since he first met me almost three years ago! He also got a kick out of when I said he's one of my favorite Doctors, which is a true fact. He's awesome! Yes hearing aids are crazy, I blew another one of the TA's minds yesterday during LC with how expensive they are. So do I, I got a new Isense yesterday, that's more powerful than my old one, and after months of not having it I was a bit overwhelmed!! I will keep you updated don't worry. Oh it's not your memory. I just forgot to say why I'm having it! I have a moderately sized Cyst in my Sinus's and then a small cleft in part of my pallete near a defective tooth that was never noticed until last year or so that they need to close up. I wrote about the cyst, but found out about the cleft yesterday! It is great! I'm very happy!!!
