Setting: Plains of Whiterun Hold, Skyrim 4E 201
Situation: read more to find out.
The twins, Alea and I went hunting today. The plains outside of Whiterun are prime with game, deer, elk, the odd fox or rabbit, and sometimes fish in some of the streams. Just mind the Giants. I look around at our little group of misfits. Farkas and Vilkas are laughing about something not sure what. Then I look over at Alea with her fiery red hair, like a slightly lighter version of Valans, the twins hair is as black as night, but fits them well. She's sitting on a tree stump restringing her bow, I go back to my book.
Once upon a time, in a continent far to the east there was a single solitary peak. In Akivir it stood, desert and desolation surrounded it and miles away there was a set of Craig's and mountain peaks. This was where the first dragons apeared. Akatosh had placed them on the earth to be the first of his children, long before the Dwemer, or even the Elves were awoken from their slumber deep in their mountain halls of Tamriel or were still dwelling with their maker in the heavens. Fire, Frost and Teeth were the Dragons means of hunting, and Akatosh placed more in Akivir, animals and plants dwelled in the vast place. And Akatosh taught them to speak, the Dovah created their own tongue, and then later language to be written and read. Highly intelligent were the dragons, though they became bored of their homeland and flew over land and sea, until at last they came to Tamriel. By this time the Snow Elves had been dwelling here for quite a time, along with few of the Atamorans who'd come down from the north. The dragons pitied the humanoids, thinking them weak minded and frail, and quickly inslaved them. Some became known as Dragon Priests who served the Dragons, Krosis is an example, a mortal man, who worshipped the dragons as gods, each dragon priest was given a unique mask each holding a special power. Legend says that if all masks are found and brought to a place somewhere in the burial labyrinths of Skyrim, they together will unlock a secret that has long been lost to the ages…
“Anna, let's go.” I look up suddenly coming back to reality, Alea waves her hand as if to say “come on” I get up and grab my stuff walking over to them, we continue north, towards The Pale. We walk past a farm and cottage, Vilkas asks as we pass “Wasn't that the place with the crazy jester guy? Cicero?” His brother nods “And he turned out to be a contact from the Dark Brotherhood.” Farkas says and Vilkas then sarcastically says “Oh Fun!” with a wave of the arms then mutters “you two get the fun jobs.” Alea pipes in “You don't think going around being chased by bandits and bears and shit is fun? I like our missions...I'm kidding dragon hunting sounds so much better.” Vilkas laughs at the comment “and they make for better stories.” Yeah that's true. “I mean which sounds better when Ria asks you what you did today, ‘oh I nearly got my ass kicked by some idiotic bandits!’ Or ‘I faced a mighty dragon and he quickly fell before my blade/bow/magic/sarcastic comments and sass.” Alea continues. We all bust out laughing at the last part, I mean it's not wrong. It's getting dark now, the setting sun slowly going behind the snow capped mountains, but then again everything in this gods forsaken country is covered in snow, even if you go really far south, like The Rift. It may look like a pretty autumn area but whence you go up some of the hills or paths to caves it gets rather cold quite fast. The Pales the worst of it though. While Whiterun is rather fair climate, The Pale is always knee deep in a ton of snow no matter the time of year, so bring boots and a coat if your ever traveling to Dawnstar, which is exactly where we’re heading. “Why do we HAVE to go to Dawnstar?! There's nothing there!” I ask getting rather tired of walking, and just tired in general. “Well there's a port there, and one of the captins lost something, and needs us to go get it back.” Well this sucks. “But why does he need four of us?” Farkas shrugs “I don't know, I guess will find out.” And so we continue walking. Eventually we get to just outside of Dawnstar, we have a house here, like most other holds. I unlock the door and the four of us stumble inside to see to my annoyance, a small red Fox. The thing with this fox is Runa brought it home once, we said no, again, no, and now it just shows up at random, Sofie and Runa aren't even here! Their at home with Lydia, the bodyguard in Whiterun who was assigned to the house after I killed the dragon. “Oh my god.” I put my face in my hands quickly and open the door again “there's the door Kit, now gtfo.” We’d named the fox Kit, as that's what baby foxes are called. The four of us eat quickly, it's around quarter to nine. Afterwords Farkas goes to take a shower, Alea does us the favor of sharpening our swords, Vilkas goes into the guest room on the first floor and takes out his laptop and a set of headphones. I stand by the door “what are you doing?” I ask leaning against the door frame. He looks up at me “Certinly not bingewatching Anime.” He smirks. “I wanna watch!” I walk over and sit by him “Watch what?” Alea asks from the other room “Anime!” We hear a clatter and then in a few seconds Aleas sitting next to us. Vilkas unplugs the headphones from his computer and turns the sound up, until Farkas comes back we all sit around and watch Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood. Then we all go to bed and wait uneagerly for morning light.
The Next Day
“Wake up Len.” I sleepily open my eyes “hmm?” The blur of sleep goes away as my eyes adjust to the light. I sit up in bed, oh right, we’re here. Forgot about that. I go into the other room to wake Alea up as Farkas goes to wake him brother downstairs, he was already up. I walk into the other room via the connecting hall that separates the two bedrooms and houses the door where my Alchemy lab is, Alea’s asleep in the bed closest to the door in a tank top and shorts. I shove her lightly to rouse her “Alea.” I say. She groans and tries to pull the covers around her, I pull them down and she opens her eyes. “What time is it?” I look at the clock “8:45” she climbs out of the bed and I leave to get dressed. After the four of us are ready we head into the town to eat breakfast then go see what this mission is about.
We walk down to the docks and a Captin greets us with a frantic wave then hops over the side onto the dock “you must be the Warriors from The Companions!” We all nod simultaneously. “Oh you must help me, I've lost a very important thing for a client in The Summerset Isles. It's a set of scrolls, some member of the Mage's Guild, professor or researcher or something. Written in daedric, Dragon, Dwemer and Snow Elven/Falmer and other strange languages. Anyways they were stolen on my way from winterhold when I was there to pick them up at the college. Some bandits pillaged my stock when I had gone into Windhelm to get supplies, I'm pretty sure they took the scrolls here.” And marks the location on my map, great even more walking. We head on our way to the fort.
Knife fort ridge, a bandit settlement on the border between Falkreath hold and Eastmarch Hold. The twins draw their swords, Alea draws her bow and knocks an arrow, a dagger within easy reach in her belt. I conjure a flame atronach who stands at the ready and start a flame spell in each hand. Vilkas kicks the wooden door to the fort open and moves out of the way as Alea quickly shoots three of the oncoming bandits as swiftly as legolas shoots orcs, and even knocks and shoots two arrows at the same time! The atronach moves past them and farther into the fort shooting fireballs left and right. The rest of us charge in and soon enough the battle has died down to just us and the leader standing in front of the chest containing the scrolls. “Stand down.” The chief says. “I have a better idea how about you die.” Vilkas says coolly from behind me. The bandit chief draws her sword quickly and then the battle begins. I conjure a bound sword and our blades clash, parrying each strike and lunge. I shoot a blast of flames at her, and she takes considerate damage falling to the ground. I stand above them, then place my blade against their neck. She coughs, and I slit her throat, she falls to the ground. Dead.
Alea picks the lock on the chest, and we open it, finding a good amount of gold, an enchanted shield, some jewels, and finally the scrolls. I take them and stash them among my robes. Everyone seems exhausted. We search the bodies then drag them out of sight so no one gets suspicious, then head to go back. “We should go return the scrolls.” Farkas says. “Fine… But we're taking a carriage.” I reply tiredly. So concludes our adventure of that day. The Companions and the story of the Lost Words.
The End.
Vilkas is a sarcastic, funny and incredibly intelligent person. He just doesn't realize it sometimes. Alea is the other sarcastic one, whose also a Polygamous Lesbian. Vilkas is AroAce and has Aspergers. You know Anna and Farkas rather well probably so I won't explain. But this ended up being rather different than what I intended to write, but I like it better actually.
Until nex time,
Max
Also this was written while listening to Anime songs and the Skyrim soundtrack.
It's an adventure!

DeleteFact: the client was Phillip. Anna was annoyed at him but it subsided quickly. Phillip was confused per usual.
