Feelings (Farkas)

Partially connects to Ender-Chans latest chapter, and the rest of it is just shenanigans...This is why Skjor doesn't usually give Vilkas these things because the twins just get into trouble and end up needing help from the other one.

Anyways...

Anna shifts herself slightly, head falling in my lap with a thud, sleepy silver eyes looking at me, half closed but still remaining there dimming brightness “Hi.” Anna gives a slight smile. I take one of her hands in mine “Hello.” She yawns “I'm tired.” I lean back against the chair “you should be it's late. Go to sleep.”  Before I'm finished I feel another thud against me, Anna's head fell to the side, she's fast asleep. Well at least she can sleep. I grab my laptop from the bench by the window and open it. Huh, I have a message from Steve. I think the guy must like messaging me at odd hours of the night, or he just knows I'm usually up.

“Hey, how are you. We haven't talked in a while.”

I brace myself and type the response-

“Hi. Umm, to put it briefly- Not Good.”

“What happened?”

“Well...a few things happened. 1, Anna has a brain tumor, it's likely not cancerous and should be removed sometime in the next two weeks. 2, Alduin keeps raising the dragons at the worst times. And 3, just ahdjsnjhanggk...stuff… Life in general.”

“I understand how you feel, Caitlin had a seizure and people keep saying that it will get better and things like that but they keep dismissing it. And the fact that my anxiety is just going through the roof.”

“Oh that sucks I hope she's okay. Honestly though that's my life, I'm an edgy relatively small ball of Anxiety and dorkiness haha….now that I think of it, so is my twin. Have you met him?”

“She's alright now, she's sleeping (obviously). It's just annoying because people don't understand it. They think I'm a hero who took on ‘a burden.’ I had originally gone to The End as a suicide mission, but then I met Caitlin. She healed me, helped me get back on my feet. I'm pretty sure that she'd die for me at this point, though I hope that never happens. Do you ever experience anything like this with Anna?”

I think for a moment. Anna’s breathing quickens, I check her pulse, then pick her up and move her over to the bed placing her under the covers before going back and grabbing my computer. I sit next to her as she curls up still asleep. I smile looking down at her.

“That's good she's alright, and that she's asleep. Your question brings up something rather interesting actually-”

“What do mean?”

“Well, I'm not sure if you actually know how we met. Or how Anna even ended up here at all. So I'll start from the beginning. Anna’s a Mage, a wizard of sorts. And in northeastern Skyrim there is a college specifically for mages, it's highly regarded, not as highly as The Arcane University in Cyrodil or any of the Mages Guilds in High Rock, where Anna is originally from. So anyways Anna applied and got in, so next step was to actually get here, but there's a civil war going on and Anna walked into an imperial ambush at the border.”

“Okay what happened next?”

“So there was a town called Helgan and the captives were taken there for execution.”

“EXECUTION??!!!”

“Yep. But just as the headsman was getting ready to kill her Alduin, the world eater. A giant dragon showed up and destroys the town. Annas one of the only ones that got out alive. So there's a town near Whiterun called riverwood and the person she escaped with, his sister lives there. She provided her with some cloths, money and food as well as a place to stay until she went on her way to whiterun. And when she was going along the road she noticed a giant over attacking a farm and went to help. I was there with two of my coworkers, Alea, and Ria. We met and started awkwardly talking and then talked more and well what do ya know here we are.”

“That's actually a really cool story. Thanks for telling me.”

“Anytime friend. Aaaaaannnnnd my Brothers calling me, gotta blast friend see ya.”

“Good night.”

I answer the phone and get out of bed, going into the hall

“What Vilkas?” I whisper trying to remain quiet

“Where are you?” He asks then pauses, probably distracted by something.

“What? I'm in Markarth. Where are you?”

He breaths out “Funny thing, ‘Bout that…”
Vilkas trails off. I can feel myself tensing.

“Vilkas seriously where are you.” He laughs nervously “Ria and I are stuck somewhere between the Reach and Whiterun.” Oh my god, I facepalm “Why?!” I wander around the hallway “Mission. Blame Skjor, he sent us on it. And there's a bear gotta blast fam bye.” He hangs up...well shit.

I'm in a bit of a tricky place, first off Anna. Even though she doesn't feel well she's still her mostly usual self. And just looks really really cute when she's asleep. Two, Steve and Caitlin have a bunch of there own shit to work though. And lastly, my twin brother is somewhere in Skyrim getting chased by a bear. So many conflicting things.

“This is exactly why feelings can sometimes be a nuisance” I whisper to myself as I walk back inside, and fall into bed. At least the pillows soft.

I- I have little to no explanation to this and possibly my next Fic.

Until next time,
Max

  1. Great minds think alike. I like how you turned the meaning around to fit your universe.

    1. Indeed they do! What do you mean? How'd I turn the meaning around?

    2. You conveyed more of a sense of fatigue than desperation.

    3. Oh okay. That makes sense. Fatigue is rather common for him.

    4. Do you know anyone who's always like "I have to be the hero at all the times, even if it costs me everything"?

    5. The closest person in Skyrim to that would probably be Ulfric, the jarl of Windhelm and leader of The Stormcloaks, who wish freedom from the crumbling Empire
