I walk through the grounds, the marbled halls and palace grounds. Looking out over the mountains and can see glimpses of the Ashlands beyond. I walk through the old stone arch to the garden. It's a place no one else comes, it's my private place, secret place even. There's a pond here in the corner, lined with small grey stones and there's a bench near it that I usually sit on. I walk through the garden, feeling the grass beneath my feet looking at the trees and flowers of all sorts, the cherry blossoms are out this time of year, though only for a short time. I pick one of the white blooms from the tree, with its dark twisting branches, but it's a happy tree, not a bad one. I take one and twist it between my fingers smiling. Turning back to the pool I walk to it and stand at the edge looking at my reflection. The clear silver water shines in the moonlight that reflects and illuminates the garden, along with a few square lanterns hung on posts that light the paths. I look at myself, I'm around nearly the complete opposite of the moon that appears in the pool in the background. It is light and I am dark, with ashen skin and black hair like the rest of my people, it is large and I am small, It is able to see so much from its place in the universe, while I am stuck, with little privacy, save for my garden, my room, and this pool. The Moon Pool it is called. And it's mine.
Drabble from English class that I wrote after I finished my work and had 10 minutes left.
Until next time,

The nods towards Japanese culture made it for me.
ReplyDeleteI like to headcanon the Dunmer as having aspects of Japanease culture, as well a few slip in's of Chinese and Mongol culture, as Bethesda based them off of the Mongols.
