Sneak Peek:
DeleteThe problem is? I need to be always on, always shifting. I need to charming, confident, funny, strong, talented and, in all other ways, the man people want me to be. Although I love the applause after a good performance more than anything, I want to be free to shut some of those qualities off and just be. It'd be nice to turn off strong and admit when I'm sad or scared or turn off talented and cheer on my friends in the audience.
Sneak peak: Anna looks at me silently with an expression of what I would consider a mix of angry and concentrating. “You're nervous.” She says after around five minutes. I scoff “what, no I'm not nervous. Definitely not.” She looks at me blankly. I sigh “Okay fine I'm slightly nervous.” I admit, once again breaking eye contact. Anna takes her hand and turns my face towards her, looking me in the eyes. “You'll be fine.” She reassures me, though a small part of me still doubts it. “And you never gave me an actual answer. Yes or No. Because I have to call her back and say whether or not we're coming.” I evaluate the situation in my head. “Please Farkas, please can we go? Please please pleaseeee.” Anna pleads. I slyly grin as I come up with something “On one condition-” Anna sits up, her attention gripped. “You have to write and verbally recite the entire alphabet in Nordic.” She bites her lip “Fine.” She says rather un-enthusiastically and goes to get a piece of paper and a pen.
DeleteNote: The Nordic alphabet would likely be similar to the Russian alphabet. Hence making it very difficult to learn.
I'm curious.
DeleteMighty Max....
ReplyDeleteConfession. I did not read this Blog post {because I am feeling almost overwhelmingly busy right now!! I'm working on twain completely different fictional stories somewhat simultaneously.... I need to send a dear friend an e-mail....}. Anyway. I felt compelled to send you this quotation!! I know in one fashion or another, as an artist, I live by these words!! ;)
A writer tells a story to save his life. --Bruce Springsteen
'Stay hard, stay hungry, stay alive', Raelyn
PS. You can, of course improvise with this quotation.
DeleteA writer tells a story to save {their} life. ;)
That is a great quotation!!! I may incorporate it at some point into one of my stories!
DeleteMighty Max....
DeleteBruce would love it if you do that!! Let me know which story you choose to incorporate his quotation in, so I know, alright? ;)
'Stay hard, stay hungry, stay alive', Raelyn
It will likely be one from either Alarian or Fenris's perspectives, though I kind of want to do it from Fenris's as Hawke teaches him to read and write because as a slave he was never taught to.
