My hearing has gotten worse :(

Sadly, as the title says, my hearing has indeed gotten worse. Slowly I am loosing the higher and middle frequencies in both ears, my left ear being the one that is progressing faster and started off worse. My left ear stands at a moderate/moderately severe loss for upper middle frequencies and severe for very high frequencies. My right ear is moderate for high frequencies and mild for middle frequencies. I can no longer hear fire alarms either which is likely related to a central nervous system issue. We see Neurology tomorrow. Currently I'm being evaluated for conventional amplification or to make adjustments to my current amplification system, the Rodger. ASL interpretation will also take more of a role in daily life for accessing speech and safety, as in the event of a fire I would only have the senses of sight and touch to be aware. As I cannot hear fire alarms and cannot smell smoke. The good news is for once we found an audiologist who worked very well with me and the strange pattern and nature of my hearing loss. The teacher of the deaf and hard of hearing has also been a big help in the process.
