“Who are you? I've seen you around here before, but I never knew your name.” A kid around my age asks as I sit reading while I wait for Liz to be repaired yet again. I look at the kid, he seems around my age- or, the age of my current incarnation at least. For a mortal to be my total age they'd-well...be dead. “Alarian Surana.” I answer the boy and he stares at me before attempting to pronounce it back. “You can just call me Ali. Everyone else does. As for pronunciation through, A-lar-E-an. Does that help?” He nods “what's your name?” I ask putting the book down and standing up. “Lysander.” He replies simply. Lysander? Now where have I heard that name before? “Do you have any siblings?” I ask and he nods once more “I have a brother named Landon.” Aha! That's where I've heard it! “I know your brother. That's part of the reason why I'm here anyways I usually stop by and chat with him every now and then.” Lysander looks at me with a blank expression and he seems a little sad. “What's wrong?” He shrugs “Nothing, I've just been a little upset after my parents kicked me out.” I take a step closer to him “Why'd they kick you out?” He looks at me “Because I'm transgender.” He looks away from me and puts up an arm as if he expects me to strike him for such a thing. “Well wanna know something? So am I. Well, kind of. I'm Trans/Nonbianry.” He looks back at me and puts his arm down seemingly shocked. “Really?!” I nod. “Yep.” He smiles “Well then I guess we’re two of a kind. Also what pronouns do you use?” I smile in return “I use they/them pronouns. Thank you for asking.” I grab my small pile of things that lay on a table and my book and turn to Lysander “I have to go see your brother though it's been a while since I was at your house, could you help me find it?” Lysander pulls out a map “Of course.” And the two of us set off.

Two of a kind (Alarian)
Alarian meets Lysander and they talk about their lives.
