A/N: The circle have metallic silver eyes, I think they'd also have eyeshine, and Vilkas would absolutely be the gremlin to read in pitch black darkness just because he can- same vibes as Valan reading braille books in ridiculous places (like on top of Neloths bookshelf, a favorite spot) because he can.
Prompt: Special beings with special senses
“Ah what the fuck?!” I try to avoid screaming too loud so as to not wake everyone up when passing by the twins rooms late one night. Originally I had gone to return something to Farkas when I noticed the door to Vilkas’s room open, usually it’s closed at least by this time of night.
When passing by the door I happened to notice two glowing eyes in the darkness that looked up at the sound. “What?” Vilkas asks, turning on the light and blinking, resting whatever book he’s currently reading on his knees as he sits propped up in bed. I-I…what?! We look at each other, both of us equally confused about the behavior of the other, as is surprisingly common. We have a surprising amount in common, and the inability to read social cues and people's behavior is on that list…we blame the autism, and sometimes general stupidity.
To make things even stranger Tilma seeming suddenly appears behind me and asks what's the matter. I manage to mumble out something about glowing eyes and Vilkas’s room and wonder why he’s reading in the dark…and how. Tilma reassures me everything is alright before leaving just as suddenly as she appeared. I’m convinced she’s secretly a witch, no normal old lady is capable of doing what she does, and no normal Nord I know either can read fine in pitch darkness and has eyes that reflect like a weird raccoon.
Something strange is going on here, and I’m determined to find out, but the wolfish grin on Vilkas’s face when I mention the eyes has me hesitant. What kind of fucked up magical bullshit are you secretly hiding companions…and more importantly, how can I get in on it?
