Flash Fiction February 2025 Day Fifteen: A Moment To Create (Yuuri)

A/N: Much like Yuuri I finally had a spare moment to catch up on some works in progress this afternoon. There are still many more to get through but at least my exhibition piece for March is finished now.

Flash Fiction February 2025 Day 15 Prompt: Create

Having time to sit down and create is so rare these days with how busy life has become. As of late most of the time has been late at night or very early in the morning when not bogged down by work or other duties requiring my attention. At long last I have some much needed time for myself thanks to having a day off with nothing else planned. After breakfast and a quick walk around the garden to see if there are any signs of spring I retreat to my study, which thankfully has a door that locks, keeping out unwanted visitors. There still is of course the problem of the window, which I have witnessed a certain Breton open and climb through more than once before when picking the lock on the door hasn’t worked. I doubt he’ll be up for doing such a thing today, it’s rather wet and cold outside, typical of the rainy season, his least favorite kind of weather. Going through the drawers of my desk and the cabinets I spend some time organizing to ensure everything is in its proper place. With materials now organized I find my favorite palette and a jar of water before sitting down in front of the piece of paper that has been sitting here untouched since the last time I was able to spend a few hours working on it. The base washes and layers of paint are already down, giving me something to start with which is helpful, now to build up those layers bit by bit until it becomes time to go in and add details to complete the work. It’s tedious yet relaxing, and it is very nice to just have a moment to create.
