Day 16 Mountain:
(A/N: Yes it is 1:30 in the morning when I am publishing this. I could have wrote about the red year or something for this prompt but no...have more of Valan and his misadventures in Morrowind because both of us are head empty no thoughts. Enjoy!)
One of the many things I love yet at the same time despise about my homeland is its varied terrain. There are the swamps and green hills of the southern coast around Seyda Neen, the barren Ashlands and Redoran backcountry, the Grazelands, and the rocks and rainy weather of Azura's Coast…and this is not counting the mainland or the abomination of an island that is Solstheim. I find myself up north on the edge of the Grazelands near Nchuleft which isn’t far from Ayrons tower at Tel Vos, perhaps I’ll pay him a visit while I’m in the area. I can’t even remember what I was doing in the area in the first place, aside from the fact I was here for a reason that escapes me at the moment. I’m sure it will come back to me eventually, they usually do. Red Mountain is easily visible in the distance with a cloud of smoke coming out of its top and swirling around it before dispersing across the land. Sliding down a pile of rocks and ash I land on sturdier ground, the ash is beginning to clear from the air as I move further from the mountain and the grasslands are beginning to come into view, I never thought I would be so happy to see grass again, even if it is long and dry. Looking back at the mountain I finally remember what it is I had to do in the area, I had to check in with Ayron about his recent troubles with one of the ashlander tribes he is attempting to make friends with, unfortunately for him there is a dialect barrier so he cannot go himself, but lucky for me there is money involved and I am the perfect solution to his problem. Now that I am a safe distance from the mountain and its smoke I pull down the scarf that had been covering my nose and mouth as well as my hood and take a breath of fresh air. I suppose it would be a good idea to stop at Tel Vos first and see exactly what Ayrons plan is so I don’t end up looking like an idiot and offending the Ashlander wise women when I go to negotiate on Ayrons behalf. Angering Dunmer aunties is a foolproof way to invoke the wrath of someone that is almost as potent as the fires of Red Mountain itself…trust me.
