I have session one of math MCAS and I'm really not looking forward to it. We can't use a calculator for session one but we can for session two on Tuesday. The good part about today is in the Boston area it's really nice out so my family and I might go to the beach!! Yay!!!! Also on Tuesday I have my annual school band concert and I play percussion and it's really fun. I used to play the oboe but when I got sick (I have vocal cord dysfunction, stridor and another undiagnosed breathing issue that I've had for 11 months and they don't know how to treat it. But at first I had extremely severe bilateral vocal cord paralysis and nearly got a tracheostomy but then they did and laryngoscopey and found that my vocal cord are now just very dysfunctional but I'd never had vcd or vcp or anything like that befor june 13 2014) so now I can't play the oboe anymore but that's fine I like percussion. Also on Friday in band the orchestra was going outside so we practiced on the stage and they were waiting quietly meanwhile we were moving stuff on to the stage. So the band and orchestra don't really get along band has more fun. So while they quietly get their instruments and walk quietly on to the stage were carrying snare drums over our shoulder and using a suspended cymbal as an umbrella. Also we have to drag the crash cymbals out and on to the stage and lift a table from the band room which has 3 steps from the percussion section to the floor so we have to carry that and we also had to move the big heavy metal timpini drums. It was really heavy but then we got to be like " look out! Out of the way people, coming through!! Beep beep out of the way!!!" And the orchestra was like agh don't get hit!! We also had to try to not drop stuff emphasis on TRY. But the orchestra was looking at us like we were crazy and my friend who's in orchestra was like " is it always like this with you guys?" And I was like " Yep :) hehehe".Also band and orchestra don't get along because band has pizza party's sometimes and they try to steal our pizza that we paid for. I'm not kidding two of them snuck into our room as we were watching a movie but when they turned around to go to the door the band had seen them and were standing in front of the door like oh no you don't,and they we're like um Mr.platt can we please have some pizza for ms macanns class? Then mr Platt was like NO! Bye bye. So they left and we were laughing. In conclusion I don't want mcas and I'm excited for my concert.
Until next time,
Meredith

ReplyDeleteWe had our concert last night and it went great and we have 4 really good trumpet players...like REALLY good including one named Garry which my brother is mildly obsessed with. Literally I asked him who he thought was the best and he said in one of his funny voices GARRY... ;) and yes mcas is the Massachusetts standardized testing for math this time we also had English language arts and we have science in 8th grade
DeleteOur band has nine trumpets. They are good, but loud. Standardized testing is only good for measuring one's ability to take tests.
DeleteWow your band has a lot of trumpets! And I agree but it doesn't make standardized testing any more fun!!
DeleteWait I might have deleted your other comment oops
