Jack won his court case!!!!!

Jacks court case was today and they won!!! They said it took a lot of arguing but finally they convinced the judge to expel Daniel (the kid who threw him in the dumpster) and a few of his thugs. The rest of them have anywhere from a three to five week suspension and starting next year will never be able to be in any of Jacks classes. Jack and his family (and us) were really excited that the judge ruled in their favor and Jack isn't as nervous or scared anymore which is good.

Overall good news!!!!! Good job Jack!!!

I just found out and wanted to tell you all the very good news
Video discription: Jack wearing black sweatpants and a grey "I'm gunna dunk you
like a donut!"Shirt playing with Greyson's cat Meesha
Until next time,
Meredith and Jack

    2. Jack and everyone:

That would have been so much fun! <:-) 0000

So glad you were able to solidify one another and uplift the situation.

Was it Will who threw the party? Or Ben?

    3. The party was thrown/organized by Will, Meredith, Tony, Greyson, Abbie, Mr.Stanmyer, Mr.Rabinowitz, Mr.Cummings, Ms.Egan, Mr.Mcarthy, Ms.Thornquist and two of the guidence counselors. It was really fun. Because it was during school (the party) Ben couldn't come but Will came up behind me and covered my eyes and was like "guess who?!" And then when we got to the room he took off the blindfold and everyone popped out from their hiding places and yelled "surprise!!!!" Then we had brownies and Ms.Egan even put candles in them! It was a really really fun party!! :)

    5. Thank you!!! It was really fun and tomorrow we miss science class to talk about high school stuff for next year!
What's a rose cookie? It sounds good

    6. A rose cookie is a cookie that smells like roses because it has an ingredient that makes it smell like roses. Rose cookies are awesome. Good luck in high school.

    7. That sounds really good!! Thank you. Are you in high school? If you are do you like it/do you think I'll like it?

    8. I'm currently in 10th grade. In my experience, girls still get clique-y, but not as much as middle school, and you're expected to know what you want to do with your life. It is also a lot of stress. I think you will like high school as long as you meet the right people and are open to failure.

    9. It's good that their not as cliquey. I am open to failure probably because I'm currently kind of failing math (every single one of my assessments except for 2/3 has been a 70 or lower)

  2. The judges did right, Jack and Meredith.

I hope they are happy in their alternative placements - away from you and the others who have been bullied.

So I suppose they'll miss Spring Break?

Congratulations to the upstanders - doing what you do every day.

So so glad you have had effective representation and formal backing.

Three weeks minimum? Five weeks maximum? In school or out of school?

"Starting next year": this is good, depending on how long you [Jack] remain in school.

Jack - you are a good advocate and you have cleared the way for lots of people to be safe, happy and healthy in their learning environment.

I hope the nerves and the scare - that you can deal with their effects.

    1. I hope their happy but most of all I'm happy their gone. It would be out of school, it will most likely be 5 weeks. We finish 8th grade in the middle of June and next year we start high school. My brothers (more Will than Ben) and Mr.Stanmyer also advocate from me and that's how I learned to advocate for myself. I was mostly scared right after it happened but now I'm not really scared because Daniel is gone and he was the main bully. Also Tony has a Bow and Arrow and Meredith and I both have swords (well daggers...it's a letter opener) and they will always come to my aid if need be.

    2. Jack:

Letter openers are great. I think they come between pens and swords.

Thank you Will and Stanmyer! I do remember Stanmyer from the cast of characters.

So very relieved that they are gone and that you could find some magnanimousness.

That's the thing about fear [for me]: its immediacy and its continuance - how long it lingers.

    3. Yeah letter openers are great, Mr.Stanmyer, Meredith and I all have matching Lotr themed ones! They look like bilbos sword, Sting!! Yeah their Awsome, we call mr.Stanmyer Gandalf and mr.Mcarthy is my TA and he's also Bens baseball assistant coach. But yeah their great, one time Will and I went Christmas shopping in Boston and then we got these really cool pillows that look like books...so we had a truly epic pillow fight between Jane Austin and Sherlock Holms (the Jane Austin one was for our mom we got Sherlock ones) and you know what they say "Fear cuts deeper than swords."

  4. Hello,
I was reading some of your past blog posts and I enjoyed most of them but, I thought some of them were offensive. Especially the "I'm sad..." one and ones where you say bad things about Clara and other people. I think they would be happy if you did not do that because they may be bullying you or hurting you in real life, but this does not give you permission to somewhat cyber bully them. Please think next time you post and be careful with what you post.

    1. Hello, anon. I want to say that agree with you on that actually and I try to think before I post but sometimes things happen and I forget or one part of my brain says "No don't do that you'll regret it." But then another part says "do it don't listen to what the other part said." The I'm sad one was a little different because I was actually kind of depressed and very upset from the results of my ABR and needed to vent. Also I would like to apologize if Jack lashed out at you for that other comment. It's been a very stressful few months and he's going through some tough times right now. What did you think was offensive so I can avoid that in the future (I don't try to offend people because that wouldn't be good. This blog is kind of like my place to vent and share things/get opinions and post about things I like) Also most of the things involving Clara are from September-November or before, I've kind of grown up a bit since then and try to be more careful about what I post.
Sorry I offended you...Sorry in general

      Meredith

P.S if you would like to talk privately you can send me an email and we can talk.

    2. Dear Meredith,
I am a guidance teacher from Maine, I do agree with the other anonymous that this content does seem quite offensive. I have noticed that it does not seem like you are speaking to any of your parents about these situations. I do think that this is slightly cyber bullying and I do not approve. It gets me truly shocked that someone who seems as innocent was you would do such a thing.

    3. Hello, in fact I do speak to my parents, guidence counselor and/or LC teacher when incidents like that happen. I'm truly sorry that I'm somewhat cyber bullying, as I said before sometimes different parts of my brain don't agree so to speak. One part says don't do it but the other side says do it and I don't realize it may hurt someone until sometimes a long time after it happened. Now I feel bad and promise I won't do it again. I PROMISE!!! What qualities of it are offensive? I need to know so I can avoid them later.

    4. Specific Qualities

      1. You mentioned specific names without consent.

      2. You failed to consider the other facets of the incidents. The people who make others suffer are often the ones who suffer most.

      3. They come off as hate speech towards your attackers. Emphasizing the action rather than the person would reduce this quality greatly.

Remember that, on the Internet, you represent all groups you are a part of, not just yourself.

    5. Thank you for your advice, I have to work on empathy. It's never been my strong suit.
