It'll be okay...

I'm bored so here's a little story/fanfic from Valans point of view.

"I walk the streets of Balmora, it's late and dreary. The side streets lanterns flickering eerily. I am alone." "What am I doing here ?" thought to myself. "I shouldn't be here, I should be at home, or at Castamere, or anywhere but here!" Then I sensed that I was not alone. "Being nearly completely blind and having a deaf best friend has honed my hearing to extreme sensitivity. And being in the Morag tong has made me more sensitive to movement other than my own. Mostly because I'm still VERY clumsy." I look down a side street and see a pair of red eyes. Like mine, but without the haze. Then I see more as the group of figures emerge of out the shadows like ghosts. Camonna Tong. I hate these guys. Sworn enemies of the Morag Tong we never got along. Me having lived and still technically living in cryodil didn't help, as the Camonna Tong think of anyone who has been or lived outside of morrowind to be "Outlander". A sort of insult among the Dunmer people." The group slowly walks closer, I grasp the hilt of my sword, that was I have it ready. Just in case. One of them says to me in a mocking tone "Hello, blind boy. Out for a walk or doing some work?" I don't answer. "Oh have you suddenly gone mute as well? I've heard you talk before, Valan. Why don't you tell us what your doing, eh?" Confused I manage to stutter "How...how do you know my name?" "Oh ya know, word gets around. Red haired dunmer- name Valan Velothi...kill or incapacitate on sight." The leader says grimly before he and his thugs attack me. I knock a few out but get hit on the head and fall to the ground. The wind knocked out of me and my heart is racing, blood pooling around me. And let me tell you, if my heart racing it's about the equivalent of Anna having a seizure. Basically it ain't good. After a few more blows and kicks I can't get up and their leader stands over me and says with a dark smile "not so strong are you now...Nerevarine." And kicks me once more, then all goes black.

I wake up in a small room, people are everywhere, I hear beeping and feel tubes and cords. As I shake away sleep I realize I'm in a hospital room. Great. I was here just last week and now I'm back here again. I look down my sheets to see two wires that monitor my heart, bandage around my leg and an IV coming out of my right arm. Thank the divines I'm left handed. Next my Docter, Dr.G comes in and says to me "Back so soon Valan, did you miss us that much?!" I manage a quiet laugh and explain what happened. Dr.G replies "If it weren't for your friend, you would have been in some trouble Mr.Velothi." "What friend? Who are you talking about?" "Me." Says a voice. "Lani? What the heck are you doing here?!" I say suprised. "Ah I had to go see Master Neloth and then I saw you unconscious in a pool of your own blood so I called 911." Huh well ok then. Lanriael stays and hangs out with me for most of the day. When the person who comes to draw blood comes she interpreters what's going to happen because her mom is a hemotologist and she helps her out sometimes. Honestly I do not like needles but luckly for me this didn't hurt that much, it still hurt though. After a few hours I try to get up and go walk around the cardiac floor for a few minutes. When I do I run into a little girl who must have been no more then 4. She looked like she had just had heart surgery as there was a large gash down her chest. When she looked at me was what surprised me, her eyes were hazed too, like mine. She couldn't see either. I crouched down and said "Hello there, what's your name? I'm Valan." In a tiny voice she replied "My name is Marie, you can't see?" "Not really, I can see some things but they are very blurry." I reply to her question. "Me either." Marie said. After a few minuits she ran to her room and came back with something in her hand, it was a little stuffed dog. She handed it to me and said "it'll be okay" and walked away. I smiled and repeated the words to myself "it'll be okay, it'll be okay, it'll be okay." Like a mantra. I talked to Marie's mother and apparently she went to school with my father so I try to visit Marie when I'm in Balmora and if I'm having a though time I'll repeat her words to myself "it'll be okay." And that makes me feel a little better.

The End

I had nothing to do so yeah, I hope you like it and remember "it'll be okay".

Until next time,
Meredith

  1. It's so nice to know that you're not alone. The theme song for this post is "No One is Alone" from the musical Into the Woods.

    1. Yeah it is nice to know you have people around. Wasn't into the woods made into a movie? It also displays the two parts of Valans personality, one is darker and more mysterious and the other is happier and more lighthearted and funny.

    2. Into the Woods was made into a movie. Valan sounds like a cool guy. I'll have to write a crossover with him!

    3. I thought it was. He's cool and really funny even if he isn't trying to sometimes. I think that's a great idea! Please do!!! Also just FYI, Skyrim and the rest of the series are copyright Besthda Softworks and Farkas, Lucien ext are too. Xavier,Juliette,Lani,Carmen,Valan, Samantha,Issy,Anna,Olivia,Isabelle,Abigail and the rest of the people in that long list of family and friends belong to me. Just saying because I forgot before.

    4. In my latest story, Valan makes a cameo. He exchanges a few words with Steve and that's about it. The story showcases the bold, brash, and blunt (Hey, alliteration!) Steve and also his more sensitive and vulnerable side. ESTPs will not cry if you break their nose, but will cry if you break their heart.

Bonus points if you can draw similarities between me and Steve.
