This just in: Small, nerdy, AroAce teenager due to start school in 2 days. They have just gotten their schedule and are mildly freaking out.
Now who is that teenager exactly? I'll give you hints. Their 4.11, have blondish brown hair that needs to be cut again, wear glasses, use they/them pronouns, and their name starts with M as does their new name that was suggested by their friend Adelaide Dupont.
It's Me!!
I just got back from holiday yesterday night and I'm currently sleepy and at the same time very energetic. Meaning I want to see my friends at school, but I also don't want to have to get up at 6:45 everyday. And at the high school they make the schedules weird so you don't have class at the same time each day. But it's very strange and I just went to find my classes, and I most likely will forget where they are by Wednesday.
Where'd you go max?! : For a few days I went down to New York City and I saw my friend Charlotte. We went to the MET and played an interesting game of Spot the Gay. We found much Gay and it was very good. I also met another Gender nonconforming individual out with their boyfriend and we talked pronouns and parents and stuff. It was fun. And on Long Island there is a beach called Jones Beach and they have really big waves...but be careful because if it breaks and you don't dive under it or jump over it you get tossed around and your face goes into the sand, I learned that the hard way. At said beach I became friends with a nice Lesbian couple and they built a sand castle with me and we made two queens who live in the castle with three pet dragons and they have fancy ships...can you tell they like Game of Thrones? Dany and Yara anyone?? We got back home at around midnight last night and were pretty tired.
Anyway sorry for the inactivity, I'll try to post when I'm not too busy or swamped with school work.
P.S Jack,Sarah and The Fellowship send their regards and say Hello.
Is high school bad?
Until next time,
Max
I already have the first tests of my junior year coming up! (Sarcastic yay!) Good luck with high school.
ReplyDeleteWords of Advice:
-Mean people are likely jealous of you because you have the guts to be yourself.
-Physical attractiveness + Confidence ≠ Vanity (It hurts to be on the receiving end of these assumptions.)
-Your grades do not define your overall intelligence or worth as a person.
-There will be "that one kid" with an 8.99 GPA in all AP/honors/accelerated/equivalent classes who is in twenty extracurriculars and is super nice. Just because you never see their shortcomings doesn't mean they don't exist.
-As tempting as it is to always speak up, it takes more guts to sit down and listen. You'd be surprised at what you hear.
Oh wow! Good luck!!
DeleteGood to know.
Also good to know, I can see that.
Well that explains my grades in math generally.
Okay,
Okay, I'll try

Delete"I already have the first tests of my junior year coming up! (Sarcastic yay!) Good luck with high school." Right back at ya!! Good luck!! ;)
"Mean people are likely jealous of you because you have the guts to be yourself." Very good. Very, very, very good!! That is so profound, so brilliant, so true!! ;-D
"Your grades do not define your overall intelligence or worth as a person." I absolutely agree!! ;)
"Just because you never see their shortcomings doesn't mean they don't exist." True.... Everybody has shortcomings, sins, character defects, weaknesses!! I know I certainly do!! Whether or not you are gifted, learning disabled or typical makes no difference none whatsoever!! ;-D

DeleteMighty Max....
ReplyDelete"{We} played an interesting game of Spot the Gay. We found much Gay and it was very good." That does sound interesting!! "Spot The Gay"? As in.... Observe how many people who you guess are members of the LGBTQ community? Or just gay and lesbian individuals? Did you ever talk to these people, make any Kindred Spirit, likeminded connections? ;-D
"I also met another Gender nonconforming individual out with their boyfriend and we talked pronouns and parents and stuff. It was fun." That is awesome!! This gender nonconforming person "got" you!! ;)
"I became friends with a nice Lesbian couple and they built a sand castle with me and we made two queens who live in the castle with three pet dragons and they have fancy ships..." Awww.... They sounded like such a fun couple!! ;-D
High School can be hard. Or so I have been told, anyway!! But what do I know, I was homeschooled!! Ha!! I will pray for you, Friend.... That God calms your nerves.... For you to meet some new likeminded friends and catch up with your old pals!! Good luck!! ;-D

PS. Sorry, long comment!! I so cannot do Twitter!! Ha!! ;-D
Oh no, we played with the paintings! We were going around seeing "okay their Gay, those two are lesbian, their Ace, ext." but we did find a few irl people and we talked with them! They were very nice.
DeleteYes it was great! I must have quite the "Gaydar" to be finding all these individuals, and they must have good ones too to find me!
They were very nice.
Ha! Thanks I saw The Fellowship (including Sarah) on Tuesday. And I'm getting my hair cut tomorrow...I'm trying to and somewhat succeeded in convincing my dad to let me get a pixie cut, even my brother agrees! Though they don't know the reasons behind it (dysphoria) but my moms like "no!"
Pixie cuts are marvellous.
DeleteI do find women are very attached to their hair/crowning glory?
There is a lot of Teh Gay in art!
I know right?! I want one.
DeleteThey seem to be
There is!
Mighty Max....
Delete"Oh no, we played with the paintings! We were going around seeing 'okay their Gay, those two are lesbian, their Ace'." Ah, the paintings!! That makes even more sense!! I have never observed paintings in people's artwork and wondered if he is gay, if she's a lesbian, if they are ace!! {Sorry for using "he"/"she" words.... Correct me if I am wrong.... But don't gay men usually consider themselves "him", "he"? Don't lesbian woman usually consider themselves "her", "she"? Do not mind me.... I am just a student.... I'm learning!!} Now that sounds like a fun game!! ;)
"I must have quite the 'Gaydar' to be finding all these individuals, and they must have good ones too to find me! You are coining a new word!! "Gaydar"!! I love it!! ;-D
You are going to get a pixie cut!! Cool!! I absolutely agree with Adelaide.... Pixie cuts are marvelous!! Post some pictures on here, so we can all see your new hairdo, Friend!! ;)

Adelaide....
Delete"I do find women are very attached to their hair/crowning glory?" You know what? I used to be.... On guys.... With my own hair.... On woman.... Until it started to fall out because of a noncontiguous, incurable condition called folliculitis decalvans!! Now--although the "hippie" within me has {and still does} always loved long hair on my own head, I now believe more than ever before that "bald is beautiful"!! On guys, girls, cancer patients.... My phrase is this.... "It's just hair!!"
"Stay hard, stay hungry, stay alive", Raelyn
I agree with you! I just got my hair cut actually! When I was little I had cancer and had no hair for a while.
DeleteMighty Max....
Delete"When I was little I had cancer and had no hair for a while." Wait.... You are a cancer survivor?! I do not think I knew that!! I greatly admire cancer survivors!! I find them brave, courageous, and definitely hard to kill!! Cancer survivors are some of my heroes.... That would absolutely include you, Friend!! ;)
"Stay hard, stay hungry, stay alive", Raelyn
Yep, most people don't know. That's part of the reason I headcanon Anna and Isabelle (Issy.M) both as cancer/tumor survivors. Anna as childhood brain cancer (from around age 3-6) and Issy as an adult tumor survivor who lost an older half brother to brain cancer. They are hard to kill that's a fact.
DeleteHello Max.
ReplyDeleteSaw the schedule on Tumblr!
Think it would be fairly easy for your peers to identify you with that description.
Gay spotting is awesome.
No, high school is not bad [it can be for lots of people and you can help make it less bad]. I liked my school. And yours seems very very good. I think it will go very quickly and you will be very close with people.
What with blocks for lab work and solid physics and history.
As well as advisory at the end of the day [or is it all the time?]
And "Intro to Engineering". Is this an exploratory class?
And I agree about that "one kid". And sitting down to listen. Except I walk around and listen.
They do seem to put things like Band in the middle of the day.
You just "went" to find your classes ... or "want" to find them?
*yawns* good morning.
DeleteCool!
That was the point :)
It was very fun
Well that's good at least.
Physics is okay, Bio is my specialty.
It is the equivalent of homeroom, at the beginning of the day, but I have a late day everyday except for day 2. So instead of going in at 7:30 I go in at 8:30
It is the prerequisite to all the other IT courses.
Okay. I look at people mouths and try to listen.
That's when electives usually are
I "went" to find them, they are mostly on the second and first floors, except for math and a few others on the fourth and third floors
You will do great M. I'm not going to lie, high school can be a tough adjustment but you can do it. Your friends and your special Ed teachers and really all your teachers are there for you and want you to succeed. Everyone gets nervous about starting high school and I bet most of your grade is experiencing similar feelings. But sometimes when you have a disability, you have worries and fears specific to that and you feel you can't discuss them. You can. Discuss them here or with your friends. Not talking about your feelings makes you worry more in my experience. I hope this advice from a college freshman to a high school freshman is helpful. Have a great 9th grade year!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kathryn! It was a little tough today I got lost once but Mr.McCarthy helped me find the way to Gateways with him and Jack for ASL lessons. And my English class teacher is hard to understand because they have a think Indian accent and when they were saying "fruits." I thought they were saying "foods" and I couldn't understand them until my TA Ms.suitor signed it for me. I felt a bit nervous about that today, like introducing myself because of my speech issues. I talked with my friends, and my girlfriend, as all of us have a type of disability. It is helpful! Have a great freshman year in college!!!!!
