If you read my post way way way back describing Isabelle "Issy" McKinnion, my oblivion character and the raven haired Hero of Kvatch. You would know they had a very troubled past, namely the death of both of her siblings. William McKinnion her older half brother by 16 years, who died from brain cancer at the age of 23, when Isabelle had turned 7 not long before. And Amelia, her younger and only sister by 14 years, died when Issy had just finished high school and was 19, Amelia was 5. And so, of the three, only left is Isabelle. The dark one, the lone wolf, the cursed child, the middle kid, the unwanted. One night when everything was too much to bear, the grief, the sorrow, the constant reminders of a time long past, Isabelle fled. Leaving only a note and a pendent of hers, before stealing away into the night. She went to Cyrodil, ended up in The Imperial City, and was starving having not eaten in days, absentmindedly took a slice of bread from a crate in the market. And was then arrested and put into the prison, met the emperor blah blah blah. So! Now she goes home for the first time in around five or so years in this story. And this was originally going to be stupid fluff but I decided to break your heart into a million pieces. Maybe next time friends, maybe next time.
Daggerfall highrock : 4E 3
Wow, I haven't even looked at pictures of Daggerfall in at least two years. What? I've been busy! Everything comes flooding back, there's where the guards live, there's that cute little house near the gate, I go and read the mailbox sign "Lenox" it says. Huh, cool name. Then I look across the street to a larger house, it's as if you could fit the littler one in it at least twice. "Jones" says the intricate name plate above the doors. I continue walking down the main street, there's Walnut street and Walnut street school. Then on the opposite side, on the side streets behind the little house is oak street, I can see JCC and then outside the walls up on the hill is Ceder hill school for the Arts. I have a friend who studies music there, as well as another who studies Drama. They both go to university as well, here in the city. I wander past the marketplace with the busy stalls and the inn and tavern. It's about dusk now, the stars are slightly visible, to the attuned eye, amongst the purple blue sky. Small puffy clouds drift lazily by, as the sun sinks beneath the mountains. I eventually get to my house, or at least I had once called my house. "15 Stone street" most of the names of the streets are named after things in the area, like trees, and other resources. Though some have family names, as well as heros...wait a second, why don't I have a street?! Rude. I stare at the house for a few moments. It's a good representation of what my family's like. It's a dark wooden and stone house, with some of the draperies closed, and a large double front door, with an intricate knocker, but it's mostly for show. It's an old house, my great great great great? Grandfather built it when he arrived here. I knock quickly, "one minute!" Someone says, and then the door opens, it's my mother. "Hi mum." I say with a nervous smile. "Oh don't hi mum me give me a hug!" She says and hugs me tightly. "I missed you." I whisper hugging back. We look alike, my mother and I. Similar looks, Dark black straight hair, hers is longer and kept down though, Blueish green eyes, a little below average height, but could drop you dead without a moments notice. My mom eventually lets go of me and my dog runs up to my heals as I step inside the house and plop down on the staircase going to take my boots off. He's a little dog, super cute. He's a Bulldog...but he's nice I swear. His names Pidge, because he likes to chase the pidgeons in the park on walks. But his nickname is Pudge, because he's smol and has a belly and cute little rolls and wrinkles and ahhhh he's so adorable I love him so much!!!!!! "Hiya pudge, how ya doin buddy? Miss me? Yes you did, yes you did!" I say picking up Pidge and snuggling him against me 'cause I haven't seen him in forever and awwwwww he's just afhshknfjtshjsjydbu. "You want to take him for a walk?" My mom asks with a smile. I look up with a sligh surprised look on my face, then laugh "well of corse! But I want to see dad first if he's here." I say stupidly smiling. My mom tells me to come with her and I put pudge down and he scrambles after me and then runs into my dads office and goes to paw at his shoes. Like the rest of my (living) family, my dad has dark hair, pale skin and eyes, but he's a bit fairer skinned than my mom, and looks a bit more worn and tired. I guess that's what happens when you marry, get divorced, your first born son dies, your first born daughter is mentally screwed up, and your last and final child is born with serious disease and issues, and dies from them before the age of six. And so you get stuck with the middle kid, the unwanted one. The trouble maker. The devil and the hero, the raven haired beauty. Me. "David." My mom says softly knocking on the open door. He looks up and smiles gently "Isabelle. We were not expecting you, what a pleasant suprise. Come, tell me all the details of this Adventure of yours...after I get a hug." He says gesturing to a chair with a laugh. I run the few feet of separation to him and hug him with all my strength. After I let go I sit down and being spewing details of what has happened over the past five years. After we're all finished with that I take Pidge and we go for a walk. I walk directly to Juliette's house and find her and Xavier in the living room with Xavier's dog, he's a Saint Bernard and he's fluffy and gigantic! Then eventually I head home and we go to dinner. I ordered steak, something I haven't had in a while, it's was delicious and tender, cooked to perfection. After that we go home and my parents say goodnight to me, as I had decided to stay up for a little longer. I wander the halls, then stop when I get near my room, I look to the two room to my right. They were guest rooms now. I turn on the lights and walk into them, I map out with my eyes where everything used to be. There was a bed, over there a dresser, that was where her dollhouse stood, that's where Will would throw his blazer every night. Memories come flooding back in a rush. I look on the walls of the hallway at the three family pictures, one from when I was little. With my father, my mother, my brother and me. My brother was fairer haired, with amber colored hair like my sister instead of black
like night. Then I see the next one. My father. My mother. My sister. And me. She had such a pretty joyful smile, youthful and excited. Even her walker looked exciting. Then I see the last one. My father, my mother, and me. No one else, like light gone on a previously sunny day. They look like their smiling but I can see past fake smiles. I'm not, I'm just staring glumly at the camera, waiting for the snap. It's like light from a candle gone out. There once and gone again. I look at the portraits of them on each of their old bedroom walls. There pale and dark background, their hair shines brightly though. Looking at me like ghosts of those long dead. Yes, home is where the ghosts live.
The End.
Until next time,
Max
Whence I can get the pictures to upload there will be cute puppies
That's a lot of death.
ReplyDeleteAnd why would she need to go to the emperor for stealing some bread? Or is that done for all crimes?
Yes it is. Thoug it's less than Ali, who brings death where ever they go pretty much.
DeleteOh so what happens is someone is trying to assassinate the emperor (spoiler they succeed and cause the oblivion crisis) and he's trying to escape through the secret passage underneath the prison and the entrance to it is in Isabelle's cell
I would think that imprisonment is a pretty harsh sentence for stealing a loaf of bread.
DeleteThere's three (and a half) ways you can get rid of crimes in Tamriel. 1, pay the fine if you have enough money (Issy didn't have any gold on her) 2, serve your sentence (for small crimes it's just a day or so. Larger crimes depends) and 3, resist arrest in which the imperial legion attacks you. The half option is if your in the thieves guild you can bribe the guards a smaller amount and they look the other way.
