A/N: Petty Fyr is my second favorite form of Fyr (the first is just wholesome single dad who needs a nap, probably a better babysitter, and a break from Ayron and his chaos Fyr)
Prompt: Person makes appointment with old enemies
“Why is it that every single time I end up out here I wind up getting attacked by something or someone?!” I hear a familiar voice exclaim and the sound of the front door slamming shut. “Because you’re an idiot and like to travel to remote places by yourself.” I tell Valan matter of factly as I finish pouring my tea and join him in the entryway, he gives me a look that states he’s less than pleased but also my point is not wrong and he accepts that. “Care to tell me why you’ve decided to show up at my tower this time?” looking him over quickly there are no obvious injuries which is what usually brings him to Tel Fyr, and so I’m curious. I pull up a chair and tell him to sit while I go make him a cup of tea of his own as he explains his reasoning for being here. As it turns out, there have been Dark Brotherhood assassins that have been following him and one attempted to attack him just as he was arriving. Strange business, last I checked The Morag Tong was the only group of assassins able to operate in Morrowind without any repercussions, and they are not fond of the splinter organization that is The Dark Brotherhood, in fact they’re very old enemies…though I have enemies far older. “They seem like they’re coming from Mournhold.” Valan tells me and pulls out a letter he found on one of the would-be assassins, I notice something peculiar about the letter but keep it to myself- surely it can’t be that. “Any idea as to who’d want me dead?” Valan asks and I resist the urge to laugh. “Shall I list chronologically or alphabetically?” Valan sighs in response and rolls his eyes. Being the Nerevarine comes with a lot of people wanting you dead, incapacitated, or otherwise indisposed, he should know this by now. I do finally point out that Mournhold is the seat of power for one of The Tribunal, Almalexia, and she clings to power almost as fiercely as Mistress Dratha clings to her attempts at immortality. I respect Dratha, and she is close to her goal, but she is missing a component or two that will make things permanent. However, I have no intentions of divulging that information, she’s smart and will eventually figure it out on her own. I can understand why Almalexia would want Valan dead, after all she was one of the three to murder Nerevar and she was his wife of all people. Still, it is strange to think she would hire the Dark Brotherhood when she has her own highly trained group of guards at her disposal, so perhaps it is someone else behind the attacks. “I guess I’m going to Mournhold.” Valan mumbles, sounding less than happy at the thought. “Wrong. We’re going to Mournhold.” the young man gives me a look of utter confusion. Where one can find Almalexia generally one can also find the company of the other members of the Tribunal, in particular Sotha Sil. With a long and complicated history Seht and I are somewhere between old friends, something more than friends, and bitter enemies. We have an old rivalry and a score to settle, so I think a trip to Mournhold and an appointment with an old enemy or two is in order, for both Valan and myself…
