And the results are...?

I had another hearing test today and I was supposed to get my hearing aids and fm set today as well but I didn't. I didn't get them because they need even more information about my hearing so my next test is on August 18th. At my next hearing test I will definitly get my hearing aids and or fm set most likely both. But what kind of annoys me is I wish I could just get it over with and get the hearing aids all ready.

In conclusion I'm kind of annoyed because I need another hearing test.

Until next time,
Meredith

  1. Ugh that is really annoying! Hopefully you can get them before school starts. Why do they keep having to repeat the tests? How did your other appointments go?

    1. Yeah it is annoying. I am getting them before school starts because school starts in September. They keep having to repeat them because like my vision there are slight changes every time. My other appointment was good. I had yet another lyrangoscope, my 18th one to be exact. The doctor we saw today referred us to a neurologist at the children's in peobody who is supposed to be a really good doctor that also specializes in autism spectrum disorders. But the other speech therapist who stopped by today to meet me wants to have another appointment sometime so we can chat...for an hour to an hour and a half. But overall it was good. How was your test today?

    2. My hearing tests stay pretty constant. Why do you keep having lyrangoscopes? Do you need speech therapy? My test is tomorrow and my medical procedure is Wednesday.

    3. My hearing stays fairly constant but there are sometimes minor changes. I keep having to have them because my vocal cords don't work the way they should. I do need speech therapy outside of school because I already get it in school. Good luck on your test. Is your procedure for your ear?

  2. No. I wish. It is a test for my GERD, a Ph test they put a tube up my nose and down my throat for 24 hours to track the movement of the stomach acid to figure out what to do next. This is not meant to be rude but can you talk with the vocal cord problem?

    1. That sounds like a painful test. Yes I can talk but at first when I first got sick I could hardly talk. When I first got sick I had severe bilateral vocal cord paralysis up until December. Since December I have had what's called larangyel tics or vocal cord dysfunction. If you ever have any questions about it you can let me know and I'll try my best to answer because no one really knows what's going on.

    2. Thanks. I know how hard it is to answer questions about something that you don't even really understand. That does not sound very pleasant. Atleast it sounds like it has been downgraded. Can it be treated?

    3. They don't really know if it can be treated because no one has ever seen something quite like this. They have seen people with VCD but not like this

    4. Rare people unite! That's what almost every doctor has said about my ear. So frustrating. My test went well so I just have to get through tomorrow.

    5. Also how did your procedure go?/how are you feeling?

    6. It was today and it was long. Long story short the endoscopy center messed up: My appointment was 11:30, got the tube placed at 1:15 and I left the hospital at 2:45. I couldn't eat 6 hours before the procedure so I was starving! And it is super uncomfortable.

    7. That stinks I hope it becomes less uncomfortable

  3. Good luck with your FM system and hearing aids. Hopefully you don't get too much feedback (the awful screeching noise produced by adjusting a microphone).

  4. Hi meredith,
I know how you feel with all those appointments and school coming up. I hope they give you your hearing aids soon! I love your blog, I'll visit back often! I also was born premature too same as you. I also have disabilities. I have cerebral palsy, Pre-P.O.T.S, Raynauds, and Autonomic Nervous System Challanges. Are you excited for school?

    1. Hi! I read your blog. My brother has P.O.T.S syndrome, small fiber neuropathy and autoamune issues. I am sort of excited for school. Do you follow me? Are you excited for school? I start school tommorow! I haven't gotten my hearing aids yet (they need more and more information and keep delaying it) so I currently have a sound field fm system which is ok,not as helpful as a personal fm set and definitely worse than hearing aids and an fm set (I automatically get a personal fm set if/when I get hearing aids) I'm glad you like my blog!
