My appointment with Dr. Robbins in Peabody for neurology today was ok I guess. The only bad is yet another neurological disorder, tics. His recommendations involve 1. Cognitive behavioral therapy (counseling) 2. Habit reversal therapy with a phycologist/ physiatrist an OT and an SLP 3. A medication called quatinzine (I think that's how you spell it.) I'm happy to have someone who may help me but also a tad bit annoyed because I need more therapy and another medication.
Until next time,
Meredith
Its always good to know what is going on with your body even if it means more doctors and medication. I just found out I have to have surgery to fix my hiatal hernia that is causing my GERD.
ReplyDeleteYeah it is good to know a little bit more of what's going on. Good luck with your surgery. When are you having it?
DeleteI wish you a successful procedure with a quick recovery and no complications.
DeleteThank you. It has not been scheduled yet. I meet the surgeon on the 21st so I will probably know then.
DeleteOk good luck when you meet him
DeleteI found out yesterday that I have inattentive ADHD. Good luck dealing with this new diagnosis. I hope the medication doesn't have any undesirable side effects.
ReplyDeleteI saw your post about getting your diagnosis. The only side affect of the medication is tiredness. But I'll need semi-frequent blood work and I don't like blood tests.
DeleteBlood work is unpleasant. I have small veins, so they are hard to find. I got an IV drip to get my wisdom teeth out and that is my extent of blood work.
DeleteI have very small veins and am a hard stick. I get fairly frequent blood work already at my endocrinologist and at the genetics clinic. I also get fairly frequent blood transfusions because I have anemia.
