Fears and Steryotypes (Ainsley)

Story time is back because it's a long weekend and I'm hanging out with Sarah (go read the prior post for reason) and want something to cheer me up again. Sooooo, today it's from Ainsley's perspective! For those of you who don't know Ainsley, she's Phillips cute little almost three year old sister. And another fact, she and her brother have two moms. So today's her first day of preschool, and she schools some kid on steryotypical stuff.

The Evans household- 7:45 3E 416

It's bright out, I can tell even though my eyes ain't open. It's weird. I turn on my side away from the light. Only that's bright now too! I'm shaken and hear a voice. I open my eyes "whatda want this early in the morning?!" I say crossing my arms. And sitting up on my crib. Glaring at my brother. He reaches in and picks me up "it's not much earlier than usual, and you have to get ready for school." He says plunking me down on the carpet then turning on the light. School, wait, what? "School? But it's Monday! Ohhhh." I say coming to the realization, school goes from Monday through Friday, most days at least. Phillip nods "yep. So get dressed, I'll be in the kitchen. Mum made you breakfast and it's getting soggy." He says and then I hear him telling Ama that I'm up. Then she comes in and helps me get dressed. We put me in a grey tee shirt, and blue overalls. Then she brushed my hair, that was a battle. I run down the stairs, this time making sure I don't trip and go tumbling into the front door...that hurt, I had to get stitches. Last time I try to skip stairs. I climb up into my chair and poke at the bowl of cereal "mum whys philly get the bigger bowl?" I ask picking up the thing of less than appetizing cereal. "Because he's bigger, and older." Mum says "by a little more than two decades if I might add." Phil butts in in-between bites. “Eat your breakfast, we need to go soon.” I go back to picking at the cereal. Then jump back down and put my dishes away in the sink. It's a bit chilly today apparently and Mom helps me get on my coat. It's a pea coat, it's a pale green with little gold buttons. And then I throw on a pair of shoes. Over by the stairs on a hook is my bag. I take it and put it over my shoulder. “Ready to go Ains?” My brother asks walking down the hall grabbing his keys and a stack of papers. “Yep!” And we walk out the door. Mum and Ama wave goodbye and I wave back. We then turn left and go onto the Main Street. “What's school like Phillip?” I ask kicking the lose cobblestones, suddenly more nervous. “It's fun. Your only in preschool so you mostly just play and do activities. It's basically like when you would go to Cathys.” He says looking down at me “don't worry about it Ainsley it'll be fine.” Phil says hugging me against his side. I bit my lip “you sure? I thought you didn't like school though.” I say looking at my shoes then stopping in my tracks. Phillip shoves his hands in his coat pockets and moved around his bag “well, I didn't like middle school. I liked preschool, and kindergarten, first was okay. Second and third were meh. Forth I had an awesome teacher. Hated my fifth year teacher. Sixth year was good, and years seven and eight were a bit of a blur. I liked high school though.” He says and takes my hand as we keep walking so I don't get lost. We're in the center of Alinor now, and it's around 8:15 markets and shops are open now so it's busy. Phillip leads me up some stairs of one of the buildings and opens the door. The outside of the door had a sign on it. We walk inside and I hear voices. An older lady comes around the corner, she looks like an imperial, and has shoulder length grey hair, a white button down shirt, and a long tan skirt that touches her feet. “Oh hello! And who is this?” She says crouching down to me. “This is my sister, Ainsley Evans.” My brother says to the women. “Evans...Phillip, is that you? My my you've certainly grown! I didn't know you had a sister! Well, I'm Ms. Ready, I had your brother. We’ll have a magnificent time, come along I'll show you where to put your things and then you can come meet the other kids, okay?” Wow, that was a lot of words. My brother gives me a little tap “go on Ains. I'll be back. I can't be late.” I look back at him as my teacher leads me away, he gives me a nod and goes back out into the snow. He's in college and has stuff to do. I look around, it's more colorful than I would have thought, and more childlike. We stop at a row of hooks and cubbies. “This is where you'll put your coat and backpack every day.” And helps me take off my coat putting it under the name plate that says “Ainsley E.” We then go into another room and it's filled with kids. There's lots of little tables and chairs, a small kitchenette, a pretend play area with some girls playing house in it. And then I see some other kids over in a corner trying to make a fort, their doing it wrong. So I go over to help them. “Do you need any help?” I ask standing a few feet from the fort. A Breton kid pops up from under a blanket. “Hey your the new kid! You look like you could be good at forts come in.” The kid with the short blond hair, green shirt and scuffed pants says. I duck under and see two other kids “I'm Luke. And yes I know I look like ‘a girl’ but I ain't one. And these are my friends.” The kid says. The others go around and say their names “I'm Maria.” Says a Redguard girl with a black sweater and purple skirt. “I'm Riley.” Says another Dunmer boy in brown pants and a pink short sleeves shirt. “What's your name?” They ask looking at me. “I'm Ainsley.” I say to the kids. “Ainsley? That's a cool name.” Luke says “not as good as mine.” Riley says. “Or mine!” Maria stomps “oh shut up, we've all got cool names.” Luke replies to his friends. “So you wanna build a fort?” I laugh thinking of frozen. Luke is the overseer of the fort construction and we split up. Riley and I are sent to go get more blocks for the walls. We go into the block area and are looking for some blocks when I hear footsteps behind us “well well well if it ain't the new girl.” I turn around and see a bunch of boys looking at us with their arms crossed and an attitude far too large for someone of that stature. “Who’re you?” I ask the boys. “Asked you first. And why'd your dad let you go out in THAT?!” He says pointing at my cloths. “I'm Ainsley.” I say confidently but then falter “I-I don't have a dad...or I mean I have one somewhere but I don't know who he is. I have two moms. Their lesbian.” I explain to the group. They laugh “fairy princess here thinks she's got two moms! Ahahahaha! What next she'll be like Lucy insisting she's a boy! Or or like Riley who wears pink all the time, boys don't wear pink girls wear pink!” The leader laughs. My brows narrow. “I do have two moms ask Ms.Ready she had my brother Phillip too. And Luke is a boy, Gender Dysphoria isn't something you mess with, okay?! And if a boy wants to wear pink let him! It's his choice.” I say throwing my hands up and about. The boy only glares “sure.” He says with a smile colder then ice. So I did what was right, punch right to the stomach. Then gather my things and go back to Luke and Maria. “Wow, you leveled him. Nice job!” Luke says giving me a high five, then Maria adds “Tommy is basically the school yard bully who likes to pick on any kid whose different.” Yeah, I can see that. He's groaning and rolling around like his appendices just burst “oh stop over reacting tommy! My teddy bear can take more than that!” Maria yells over to him. “Your stupid Ainsley, just wait until I tell ms.ready!” I hear a yell back. Eh I've got this covered...I won't get expelled right? M's ready comes over and asks to speak with me in the hall. “Did you punch tommy?” She asks quietly. “Yeah. He deserved it. He said Luke's not a real boy and Riley can't wear what he wants and I'm making it up that my moms are gay. I only punched him very lightly, like this.” I demonstrate. Ms.Ready laughs, “that's more of a tickle than a punch dear. I think tommy has learned his lesson hopefully.” And we go back inside. My new friends and I finish our fort with some help from two other girls Alex and Ilania. And then we find a piece of paper and write “Fort Malria” on it, an Acronym for Maria, Ainsley, Luke, Riley, Ilania, and Alex. Then we have snack and some other things and before I know it Phillips back to pick me up. “Bye guys!” I say to my friends as we leave. “So did you have a good day? Get into any Trouble?” Phillip asks carrying my backpack “yeah I had a good day. Punched some sense into some homophobic kid with far too big an ego named tommy.” Phillip laughs and high fives me “Did you ever have ‘A Tommy’ philly?” I ask. He nods “there will always be people like Tommy in the world sis. Better to just ignore em.” He says and fumbles with his house keys. I then recall my full tale to him and Mum and then I tell it again to Mom when she comes home. I tell them about Luke, and Riley, and Maria, and Alex and Ilania, and everything else. Preschool isn't so bad after all, now I just have to stay away from Tommy.

The End :)

    3. I'm interested in Tommy now.

    4. He's the son of a wealthy banker in the southwestern part of Alinor. The Evans live the the southeast quarter, And The Cohen's, The Smiths (plus a certain half Bosmer half altmer Marx girl named Sarah...Carmens GF she's been mentioned and written and illustrated about before ) and Everan live in the northwestern quarter closer to the center of the city and a few minute walk from The Docks. Tommy is the youngest of three and is almost four years old. He has a habit of being quite unkind to other children who are unlike himself, for Example Ainsley, who dresses very androgeneously and doesn't really play with dolls or other stereotypical things that little girls do. Or Maria, who is a Redguard refugee after her home was destroyed in a sand storm in the Alikr dessert that makes up much of Hammerfell. Or Riley, a neurodivergent autistic Dunmer boy, who doesn't give a damn on what he's "supposed" to wear. Mostly because he's got sensory issues, and just likes to wear them. And lastly Luke. Who is Trans, like Carmens sister Maddie. The outspoken, livley little boy tends to get into trouble when it comes to Tommy and his friends.

    6. Whose Tommys? Or Luke's? Or both! I agree with you.

      I have an idea?

Prompt: (my unofficial triple crossover prompt. Real one will come soon...I'm stalling) Alex meets Tommy somewhere in minecraft, lost and looking for Phillip and his Sister who went looking for Caitlin, just to check on her after all the Twitter stuff. And then *a wild Hawke/FenHawke appears!* You decide what happens next.

    7. I want to know why Tommy is the way he is.

-Are his parents intolerant hardcore conservatives?
-Did he have a bad experience with someone in the LGBT+ community?
-Does the idea of wanting to be another gender feel unnatural to him?

    8. Okay.

Kinda yeah. Basically, think Everans dad but less violent and rage prone. They think that marriage should be between a man and a woman, support the thalmor (ephisis on this.) and are generally just not very nice people.

No. He's never really seen an LGBT person, that was open and talking about it and it was noticeable at least. He's met Phillip, Ainsley's parents, Everan, The Cohen's (literally every single person in Lani's immediate family is Ace and she's AroAce. This is similar to my other TES OCs family's, the main ones at least.) The Smiths, and Miss Sarah Marx :)

No not really. It's mostly just little kid ignorance, they don't know what it means when another kid, or person, is transgender. And he's known Luke since they were babies, their dads worked in the same banking firm, until Luke's dad got laid off. Now Luke's dad works at another bank closer to home, but he travels a lot. And Tommy knew Luke back when he was still called "Lucy" so it took, and still takes. Some getting used to

    9. The Thalmor is the main ruling body of The Aldemeri Dominion of Summerset Isle. They are stationed mainly in Alinor. They believe in outlawing the worship of Talos, a Nord god. And are basically trying to plan to rule the world. That's where Lanriael, Carmen, Sarah, Phillip, and Everan come in. Lani,Cam and Ev are operatives in a secret program that's goal is to take down the Thalmor from the inside. For example plans are wrong, armies don't show up, patrols go missing, ext. they have some help from Sarah and Phillip who help with getting into things usually inaccessible and providing knowledge and information on perticular spells and weapon enchantment that could do significantly more damage and other useful things.
