Day 27 A Plane In The Forest:
I don’t exactly remember why I decided to go to Solstheim, but somehow I ended up here, and I really wish I didn’t. Apparently every few hundred or so years an incident occurs, this time it happened on Solstheim, and the incident in question is none other than Hircine's favorite event, the Wild Hunt. The Daedric Prince of the Hunt sure did pick a peculiar place for this centuries sporting grounds, I would have thought he would choose somewhere nice and woodsy…like Valanwood, or perhaps a part of Cyrodiil, not the dreary rock that is this place, with the little Imperial mining town called Raven Rock, and not much else besides some ruins, a village of people called the Skal, and a fort under Imperial control. Hircine's realm is home to the Hunting Grounds where his followers spend eternity engaging in their favorite activity, were-people, or creatures, especially, as they are considered the children of Hircine, a less gruesome connection than Molag Bal and Vampires. As I explore the northern portion of the island I come across an old Nordic ruin, it must be ancient by the way it is partially crumbling in some places, and I notice some sort of animal at a distance crawling around. I don’t think I have seen it before, perhaps it is native to the island? Slowly I make my way down toward the entrance of the ruin to get a closer look, who knows, this animal might be friendly, I have seen stranger looking animals that are entirely docile- Rollie the Guar who I once escorted along with his owner to Vivec City. However, once I set foot on the cracked stone the animals turn toward me, as do the few people who I now see also live here, and the people begin to contort growing brown coats of fur and changing into a similar shape as the animals. Now I see I have made a mistake, these people are werebears, a much more violent group when compared to werewolves. Immediately I turn and begin to go the other way as quickly as I possibly can, thankfully only a few chase me and I am able to outrun them due to my head start. I continue running until I am close to the Skal village who will give me refuge until I can get back to Raven Rock. Given he has a plane of oblivion in the forest…why couldn’t have Hircine picked somewhere else for the Wild Hunt?!
