A Visitor in the night (Anna)

"Where to now?" I ask Farkas as we walk through the snow. He thinks for a moment then shrugs "I don't know, you have the map Anna. Where are we near?" I dig through my stuff and pull out my map of Skyrim that I got a few weeks ago after my old one got incinerated by a dragon. It wasn't one of my dragons, just one of the generic ones who try to kill me. Farkas and I look at the map and he points out that we are near Solitude. "Want to just go there for the night?" He asks looking at me. "Sure, it's at least nice and warm. Better then this." I say gesturing to the snow that's literally EVERYWHERE!! He sighs "this is what I get for being married to a Breton." I give him a look and he smirks "I'm kidding, let's go." And we continue walking. The two of us get to solitude around 5:00  and head to proudspire manor, our house. We eat dinner, hang out for a few hours and then head to sleep. It started pouring rain and thunderstorming around 7:30 and I can hear the rain pitter patering against the window, gods does that get annoying. I put my head on his chest and try to fall asleep, I must have eventually because in the middle of the night there's a knocking on the door. I open my eyes a bit nervous and tap Farkas on the arm to wake him up, he sits up with a groan and asks sleepily "what, what's wrong?" I tell him to listen as there's the knocking on the door again. We look at each other then creep down the stairs softly and go to the front door. I open it and it revels a hooded figure who says in a soft voice "Anna?" It's Caitlin, our friend from minecraft. I hurriedly get her inside out of the storm and she takes off her cloak. I put it on a peg to dry and she sits down in a chair. She looks sad. "What's wrong Caitlin, why are you here? What happened?" She goes to answer and her voice breaks and she begins to cry "Steves in the hospital because he attempted suicide." Caitlin manages to say. My jaw drops I think to myself "Steve, attempt suicide?! That's, thats...wow." I look at Farkas who's standing over by the stairs most likely thinking the same thing I was. I walk over to Caitlin and sit down next to her and ask "when did this happen?" She responds inbetween crying "a few days ago I got a call from the hospital. One of my students found him 'slumped over in his office half dead with a pill bottle near his hand' I was terrified." I listen to her story "you have every right to be terrified, it's good your student found him before it was too late." I give her a hug and then point to Farkas and say "I terrify him all the time." Caitlin laughs slightly and smiles when even he admits that it's true, I scare him a lot on our adventures. We talk for a while more and then Caitlin leaves to go back to the inn, we're to meet her for breakfast at the inn tomorrow morning at 9:30 so we can talk more. Farkas and I then go back upstairs talk a bit more about that very unexpected turn of events as well as other matters and then eventually both fall back to sleep, practically on top of each other, in an exhausted mess of sheets and limbs. I hope Steve ends up being ok, attempted suicide is not something to be taken lightly...

The End.

I hadn't done a crossover in a while or at least since Steve was admitted to the hospital so I hope you liked it!

Until next time,
M

  1. Anna and Farkus live in Proudspring Manor - great name for the place. Was there a Proud [water] Spring in the past?

    Caitlin as the hooded figure.

I liked the sketch of Farkas - "I terrify him all the time". And that Anna gave Caitlin a hug.

    Caitlin in the inn.

"Farkas and I then go back upstairs talk a bit more about that very unexpected turn of events as well as other matters and then eventually both fall back to sleep, practically on top of each other, in an exhausted mess of sheets and limbs."

    Good stuff!

Yes, I can see Anna being annoyed by the rain and its pitter-pattering.

    Dragon-killers!

  2. Yes they live in proudspire manor in solitude, at least part of the time.

    Yes she is.

Yeah I liked that too, it is true though, they get into some fairly dangerous situations.

Yep, it's actually a nice inn.

    I liked writing that part.

    Thanks!

She has sensory issues and can be a fairly light sleeper or the complete opposite, it depends.

That's the Dragonborn, the ultimate dragon slayer. Of corse other people with extreme practice can learn to use dragon shouts but The Dragonborn has the inborn ability to learn shouts in a matter of seconds. It is the dragonborns destiny to defeat the evil dragon Alduin.

  3. Caitlin does not like the rain either. I imagined her in this instance with a red and splotchy face barely able to speak and looping "I should have ____" in her head.

    1. Rain isn't fun. I can imagine that as well, she certainly was distraught, but not just because of the rain.

    2. She's too self-blaming for her own good.

    3. Yeah, she is. Same with Isabelle and Sammie, Issy blames herself for luciens death, the oblivion crisis and all that stuff. Sammie blames them/herself (nonbianary, hence the nicknames Sammie/Sam) for their home situation which is clearly not her fault!

    4. Then there's Alice who blames herself for her mother's emotional abuse. She never really feels adequate.
