Prompt: Old dog new trick

 

Sometimes I wonder how Eno ended up in the Morag Tong, and why he left house Hlaalu but kept the surname. Perhaps it is a formality? Or simply the fact that people already knew him as Eno Hlaalu and it would be futile to change the routine of things, especially among the older members of the house who probably would have known him for years…after all, it is sometimes difficult to teach an old dog new tricks. Every now and then I’ll attempt to bring it up in conversation but I’m quickly shut down and the topic changed to something else, no matter how hard I try. To me it seems there is something more than wanting an air of mystery and secretive background, something must have happened. I would ask Fyr, but he doesn’t pay attention to Telvanni politics much less the politics of other houses and the country on the whole, he’s too busy making up concoctions that result in accidental immortality while trying his best on curing a deadly and maddening disease. Neloth simply wouldn’t know, he barely leaves Azura’s coast, and when he does it’s to go to Summerset Isle to discuss things with the mages there. Out of the three of them, Eno is the most flexible when it comes to changes in routine and adapting to changing circumstances. He might be old, but he at least has a number of tricks still up his sleeves…and knives…a lot of knives.
